Somerset coast at Porlock Weir

High tides tomorrow morning may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible Around high tide  We are entering a sequence of Spring tides that may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible around 06:45 on Friday 11th September. Flooding is forecast to affect locations at Porlock Bay, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir. High tides overnight may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible from 22:30 tonight, Friday 11 September, to 02:30 on Saturday morning 12 September, peaking at 00:30  Areas most at risk lie within the Sandside area of North Morecambe Bay. High tides over the next two days may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible from 7:30PM to 9:30PM on 11/09, from 08:00am to 10:00am and from 08:00PM to 10:00PM on 12/09.  Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton. High tides overnight may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible between 12am and 2am overnight on Saturday 12th September.  Clacton Promenade, Lee-over-Sands and Brightlingsea sea front may see some wave overtopping and spray. The tidal Rivers Bure, Ant and Thurne

There is no longer a threat of flooding, though standing water and debris may still remain.  We do not expect to see similar impacts from the next high tide.   We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary.   Continue to take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car.
