Day trips from Samoa

Genuinely narrow day-trip range from Apia/Upolu. Savai'i counts only when the event is actually on Savai'i (SSC vehicle/passenger ferries Mulifanua-Salelologa run 7 days a week, 60-90 min crossing, several sailings daily, WST10 adult one-way) - the ferry terminal at Mulifanua is a ~35-45 min drive from Apia. American Samoa/Pago Pago counts via the ~25-35 min hop on Talofa Airways or Samoa Airways (up to 4-8 flights a day between Fagali'i/Faleolo and Pago Pago), which genuinely supports a same-day return. Manu'a Islands (Ta'u/Ofu/Olosega), Fiji and Auckland are all a flight beyond Pago Pago/Apia and do not qualify as day trips.

⚠️ Race events and prize-giving typically run through the afternoon; check the last return ferry from Salelologa (evening sailings are less frequent than daytime) so you aren't stranded overnight.
