# Day trips from Azores

> Based in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel. Day-trip range = Azores Airlines/SATA inter-island flights (Terceira ~45min, Faial ~55min, Santa Maria ~25-30min, all several times daily) plus, to reach Pico, the 25-min Atlânticoline ferry from Horta (up to ~6 sailings/day in summer) on top of the Faial flight. All four islands below are genuinely do-able there-and-back in a day with an early flight out and a late-afternoon/evening flight back, but return frequency is thin (often 1-3 flights/day per route), so lock in both legs before booking — do not assume an evening flight exists on your date.
