# Day trips from Aruba

> No ferry runs between the ABC islands (open Caribbean water, no scheduled service) — day trips mean flying. Aruba-Curaçao (AUA-CUR) is a genuine daily-shuttle route, 30-40 min, operated multiple times a day by Divi Divi Air, EZ Air and Winair, so Curaçao day trips are low-risk. Aruba-Bonaire (AUA-BON) is much thinner — Divi Divi's direct service runs only about once a week, so most travellers connect via Curaçao (AUA-CUR-BON) with a short layover; check the live schedule before booking any Bonaire day trip, and build in slack in case the direct flight isn't running on your date.

- **Dia di Himno i Bandera (National Anthem & Flag Day)** — Brionplein, Otrobanda, Willemstad, Curaçao, CW · 2026-07-02 · ~30-40 min flight + short taxi each way
Curaçao's whole island stops for its flag-and-anthem day — parades, uniformed youth groups, live music and a waterfront party atmosphere you won't get on a normal Willemstad visit
Getting there: Fly AUA-CUR (Divi Divi Air/EZ Air/Winair), 30-40 min; taxi 10-15 min into Otrobanda

- **Taste of Bonaire** — Wilhelminaplein, Kralendijk, Bonaire, BQ · 2026-07-10 · ~45 min-1.5h depending on routing each way
Kralendijk's main square fills with local restaurants and chefs plating Bonairean specialties (kabritu stobá, funchi) alongside live music — a proper island food night rather than a tourist buffet
Getting there: Fly AUA-BON direct if the weekly Divi Divi slot lines up (40-50 min), otherwise connect via Curaçao; taxi 5 min from Flamingo Airport into Kralendijk

- **Nos Zjilea (monthly cultural market)** — Mangazina di Rei, Rincon, Bonaire, BQ · 2026-07-25 and 2026-08-29 (last Saturday of each month) · ~1-1.5h flight/connection + 20 min road each way
Bonaire's oldest inland village hosts its monthly heritage market at the historic Mangazina di Rei plantation storehouse — local musicians, crafts, home-grown produce and traditional food in a low-key, non-touristy setting
Getting there: Fly into Bonaire (direct or via Curaçao), then taxi/rental car ~20 min from Flamingo Airport to Rincon
