Day-trip range from Anguilla is genuinely tiny: the 20-25 min public ferry (Blowing Point <-> Marigot) puts French St Martin/Dutch Sint Maarten within reach, and a ferry change at Marigot onto the Voyager fast ferry (~60 min) reaches St Barths. There is no scheduled inter-island flight worth using for these distances. Big caveat: the last public ferry FROM Marigot back TO Anguilla is 18:00 and the last FROM Anguilla TO Marigot is 17:15 - Caribbean ferries do not run after dark, so any evening event (fireworks, night fetes) on St Martin or St Barths means either a private water-taxi/charter back, or an overnight stay. Plan the return leg before booking anything with an evening finale.
music festivalBuss Di Chains Cooler Fete (Emancipation weekend)
Sint Maarten (Dutch side, Simpson Bay area), SX
St Maarten's marquee Emancipation Day soca/dancehall cooler fete - the loudest, most local party of the SXM summer calendar
2026-07-04 · best day Sat, 4 Jul 2026~1h door to door each way
Getting there: Ferry Blowing Point-Marigot (25 min) then taxi/bus across the border to the Dutch side (15-20 min)
⚠️ Daytime/early-evening cooler fete - finishes before the last Marigot-bound then Anguilla-bound ferries if you leave promptly; confirm exact venue hours closer to the date
cultural festivalBastille Day fireworks and festivities
Marigot, French St Martin (also Gustavia, St Barths), MF
France's national day gets a proper Caribbean send-off - live music, food stalls along the waterfront and fireworks over the bay; the same night lights up Gustavia harbour on St Barths
2026-07-14 · best day Tue, 14 Jul 2026~30 min each way
Getting there: Ferry Blowing Point-Marigot, 25 min, walk into town
⚠️ Fireworks are after dark over Marigot harbour - last public ferry back to Anguilla leaves Marigot at 18:00, well before the display; you'll need a private boat/water-taxi back or to watch from the St Barths leg instead and stay over
cultural festivalFete de Sandy Ground (Assumption Day village festival)
Sandy Ground, French St Martin (fishing village on Marigot's lagoon side - not to be confused with Anguilla's own Sandy Ground), MF
A genuinely local fixed-date fete (not a tourist event) with music, street food and community sports in one of St Martin's oldest fishing villages
2026-08-15 · best day Sat, 15 Aug 2026~40 min each way
Getting there: Ferry Blowing Point-Marigot (25 min), then a short taxi/walk to the Sandy Ground district
⚠️ Starts with a morning mass and official ceremony, runs through afternoon food stalls and sports into the evening - plan to leave by mid-afternoon to make the last ferry home (17:15 from Marigot-side crossing, 18:00 latest)
sailing/maritime festivalFete de la Saint-Barthelemy (Gustavia) and Fete de Saint-Louis (Corossol)
Gustavia and Corossol, St Barthelemy, BL
St Barths' biggest local festival of the year - a genuine patron-saint weekend of harbour racing, church processions and two nights of fireworks, well outside the yacht-charter high season
2026-08-24 to 2026-08-25 · best day Mon, 24 Aug 2026~1h30-2h each way with the connection each way
Getting there: Ferry Blowing Point-Marigot (25 min), change at Marigot ferry terminal onto the Voyager fast ferry to Gustavia (~60 min)
⚠️ Two-day patron-saint weekend: Aug 24 in Gustavia has a harbour regatta, official ceremony and fireworks over Quai du General-de-Gaulle after dark; Aug 25 in Corossol has a fishermen's mass and its own evening fireworks. Both finales are after the last realistic ferry connection back to Anguilla - budget for an overnight in St Barths or St Martin if you want to see the fireworks rather than just the daytime regatta
